Tamil movie releases for Diwali.

Diwali is a festival season that every one looks forward to celebrate. Kollywood, the home of Tamil movie industry also gears up to release some good movies and for them it is both a celebration and also tension. Every actor, director who has their movie release on Diwali, will be happy that their movie is getting released on a festive season and at the same time will be fully tensed up because they hope that their movie becomes a box office hit and not a flop. Also every Diwali, there will be couple of movies from the top ranking heros and the competition for the top spot in the box office will be fierce. This year, 2011, movies of 4 top heros are getting released and their fans are gearing up for a mega event on Diwali. Here is the list of confirmed Diwali release movies.

7Am Arivu the much aniticpated movie of the year. Gajini movie team of Suriya and director A R Murgadoss have teamed up again to give this mega budget movie which the director claims will make every Tamilan feel proud. Based on the trailer (video below) and the news, it looks to be an interesting movie. It is centered around a true story that happened in 5th century where a Pallava prince goes to China and develops martial arts. According to the director, there are proof and documentation that certain martial arts skills were developed by this Tamil Prince after going to China. So it will be very interesting to see Suriya in this role. Songs have already topped the music charts and Harris has given yet another hit for Suriya.

VelayuthamVijay fans must be worried now because there is not much talk about his next movie that will be released along with Suriya's 7am Arivu. While that movie is getting lot of media attention, Velayutham is not getting even 10% of media attention when compared to 7Am Arivu. The only news about this movie is that Vijay has done a super hero role with two heroines. Well all his movies were super hero based movies. So whats new in this? Also the songs werent that great and it has the usual political proganda lyrics like Vijay's earlier movie. Unless this movie pulls a surprise by being very good after hitting the theatres, right now it looks like it is not going to make it.

Oosthi Silambarsan has recently taken over Jeyam Ravi's place i.e. in making remake movies. First Vaanam which was a remake of a Telegu hit and now, for Diwali he is all set to release Oosthi which is a remake of Hindi super hit, Salman Khan's Debaang.Again very less news about this and also the songs were release just couple of days ago. So not much to say other than wait and watch.
Mayakam Yenna Dhanush has been consistent in releasing atleast one movie every year and this time he is ready with Mayakam Yenna for Diwali. Directed by Selvaraghavan, his brother, who had started off with another project which was then shelved due to some differences with the actors, later took this script in which Dhanush is said to come in four different looks and Selvaraghavan claims that this is a totally new script and nothing to do with the script that was shelved. Another wait and watch for this movie.
