After a dismal direction of Seval movie, Director Hari has gone back to his 2 aces and procduced yet another racy movie Singam. One of his ace is the storyline which he had used in his earlier movie Saamy which gave a big break to both Hari and Vikram and the other ace is none other than his favorite hero Surya who has done a fantastic job in this movie.
Now that you know the storyline, you can predict Surya as a police officer, yes, he is the local S.I- Duraisingam who is true to his name, a firebrand of a cop and posted in his native town of Nallur in Tuticorin. His actual desire is to run his family business that converting his father's provision shop into a big departmental store. But his father (Radha Ravi) fantasizes him as a cop and Duraisingam lives up to his father's dream and becomes a cop.

Singam lives at peace with everyone in his village and there are several little sequences that potray how he solves minor disputes amicably with filing any FIR etc and there are several comedy sequences sorround this and Vivek as 'Eatu' Erimalai has done a remarkable job.
