Rating: **** - A soul-stirring Romantic journey

This movie had created lot of expectations because it is the first movie where Simbhu has joined hands wih Gautham, A R Rahman is scoring the music for the first time after winning the Oscars. Well Director Gautham Menon has lived up to the expectations and given a solid romantic musical that is bound to rouse the audience.

The storyline is a simple age old one. But the way Director has written the script and the way it has been picturized makes this movie stand out of the rest. Karthik (Silambarasan), an engineering graduate, wants to make it big as a filmmaker. He lives along with his family as a tenant. He falls in love with his house owner's daughter Jessie (Trisha), a well-groomed girl raised in an orthodox Malayalam Christian family. When Karthik proposes his love for Jessie, she doesn't accept it at first. But she is gradually left confused over making choices between the best and is caught between extreme confusions.

Now Karthik has to make sure that everything is set right and join hands with Jessie but it is not as easy as one might think. The climax of the movie leaves the audience perplexed and leaves a lump in you throats. The second half seems to be a little drag with a unnecessary complex narration of Jessie's character and repeating several times why they are in love. It was almost like watching a mega serial episode where they keep repeating just to buy time.

Simbu, what a mature performance, a masterpiece in his career. Gautham has brought out the real talent in this young actor and makes everyone wonder where he was hiding such a wonderful talent. If he continues to perform such roles, he is bound to stay in the industry for ever. Trisha, as usual, looking gorgeous in sari and the chemistry between Simbu and Trisha has worked out very well. Again, Director Gautham has to be commended for an excellent selection of cast for this movie.

A R Rahman has done his magic again. Beautiful songs and picturized very well. Gautham Menon has once agains struck gold. Eventhough it may not do well in B and C centers, this is the best ever film for both Simbu and Trisha and with his own style, director Gautham Menon has made this movie worth watching in the big screen.
